Staff Software Engineer – Integrations Platform

About the role

GoFundMe is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the technical vision and execution of its Integrations platform. This senior individual contributor will shape core integration surfaces such as public APIs, webhooks, Salesforce connections, and iPaaS tools, while mentoring engineers and collaborating with cross‑functional partners.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical roadmap for the Integrations platform, ensuring scalability with product growth.
• Lead design and implementation of public/private APIs, webhooks, and automation workflows.
• Guide the team’s use of AWS services (Glue, Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, SQS/SNS) for robust integration workflows.
• Evaluate and integrate third‑party platforms like Salesforce (NPC/NPSP, Experience Cloud), Workato, and Zapier.
• Champion AI‑assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve engineering efficiency.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, pair programming, incident reviews, and technical coaching.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with deep focus on backend and systems integration.
• Strong startup experience and a product‑mindset for pragmatic technical decisions.
• Proven ability to design robust APIs and scalable micro‑service or event‑driven architectures.
• Experience diagnosing performance and scale issues using monitoring tools.
• Mentoring orientation with a desire to elevate teammates.

Required skills

• Node.js, Python, Java (at least two).
• TypeScript, GraphQL, Webhooks, MySQL.
• AWS services: Glue, Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, SQS/SNS.
• Salesforce integrations (NPC, NPSP, Experience Cloud) and iPaaS tools like Workato and Zapier.
• Application performance monitoring tools: New Relic, BugSnag.
• PHP Laravel (preferred).
• AI development tools: GitHub Copilot, Cursor.
