Solution Architect FSS

About the role

Chevron Global Business Services (GBS), located in Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires, Argentina, is hiring a Solution Architect. The successful candidate joins the IT Company, part of a multifunction service centre with more than 1,800 employees delivering business services and solutions worldwide. Relocation could be considered; expatriate assignments and visa sponsorship are not possible.

Key responsibilities

• Define end-to-end solution architectures aligned with enterprise strategy, covering scalability, security, performance and maintainability.
• Own key architectural decisions, weighing business value, cost efficiency and long-term sustainability.
• Assess build vs buy vs reuse options and develop architecture artifacts such as diagrams, integration patterns, data flows and decision records.
• Guide development teams to follow architectural principles and standards without slowing delivery, and lead architecture reviews.
• Evaluate technical feasibility and run cost/benefit analyses for new initiatives, and identify and manage technical risks, dependencies and technical debt.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners and engineering teams to turn requirements into scalable solutions, and support modernization and cloud-native migrations.
• Ensure operational readiness, resiliency and supportability of solutions in production.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and experience in complex, multi-system environments.
• Ability to balance short-term delivery needs with long-term architecture sustainability and TCO.
• Stakeholder management and communication skills, including explaining and defending architectural decisions.
• Leadership in mentoring engineers and improving team technical maturity.
• Experience in Agile delivery models, and strong focus on risk management, governance and compliance.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in Azure cloud architecture (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and its core services (compute, storage, networking, Azure AD, integration, data platforms).
• Cloud patterns: microservices, event-driven architecture, API-led integration, distributed systems, resiliency and DR patterns.
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code and automation.
• Integration expertise (APIs, messaging, data integration) and architecture documentation.
