Site Reliability Engineer - Automation & Observability

About the role

Chevron Global Business Services (GBS) in Buenos Aires (Puerto Madero) is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer focused on Automation and Observability. The engineer designs, implements and operates reliability engineering across OT/PCN (Process Control Network) environments, partnering with product owners, platform teams and technical leads to set reliability standards (SLIs/SLOs), build observability and integrate automation with ServiceNow ITSM. The role works closely with global teams and vendor partners.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement SRE practices, including SLIs, SLOs and error budgets
• Build and standardize observability across metrics, logs and traces, including dashboards and alerting
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis and postmortems
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) and integrate monitoring signals with ServiceNow ITSM
• Develop reusable automation components such as pipelines, roles and validation frameworks
• Operate within OT/PCN environments following security, segmentation and compliance standards
• Use telemetry from platforms such as SolarWinds to improve operational visibility
• Collaborate with product owners, architects and vendors in Agile ceremonies and working sessions
• Produce and maintain runbooks, architecture diagrams and operational guides

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience operating production systems with a focus on observability and reliability
• Hands-on experience with SRE practices and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps)
• Experience integrating monitoring with ServiceNow ITSM workflows
• Experience in complex or regulated environments, preferably OT/PCN
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across global teams
• Preferred: industrial/OT experience, SolarWinds familiarity, ServiceNow Service Mapping/CMDB, automation frameworks (e.g. Ansible), security frameworks (CIS, NIST, ISA/IEC 62443), Agile delivery
