Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Parser is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join its growing data engineering team. You will design, develop, and maintain an enterprise‑level data platform on Databricks that supports critical banking operations and analytics initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise data pipelines using Databricks and Apache Spark.
• Build scalable ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and deliver data from various banking systems.
• Implement a lakehouse architecture with Delta Lake for reliable storage and processing.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
• Optimise Databricks cluster configurations and query performance for cost efficiency.
• Develop and maintain data quality frameworks and monitoring solutions.
• Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with PCI‑DSS, SOX, GDPR.
• Create technical documentation, mentor junior engineers, and participate in code reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of data engineering experience.
• 3+ years hands‑on experience with the Databricks platform.
• Experience with banking or financial services data and regulatory requirements.
