Lead AI Engineer

About the role

Blend360, an AI services provider, is looking for a Lead AI Engineer in Buenos Aires to lead project delivery, build and mentor an AI engineering team, own proposals and new business initiatives, and guide the design and production of RAG systems, agentic frameworks and LLM-powered solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project delivery end to end, with governance, stakeholder communication and accountability for outcomes
• Build and mentor a high-performing AI engineering team, set technical standards and define what AI systems should and should not attempt
• Conduct technical reviews and architectural assessments, and run feasibility assessments choosing between prompting, RAG, fine-tuning or classical MLM
• Guide the design of RAG systems, agentic frameworks and LLM solutions, applying advanced prompt engineering (instruction design, few-shot sets, structured outputs, tool/agent prompts)
• Mentor engineers on end-to-end AI system design and production deployment
• Design evaluation frameworks including LLM-as-a-judge approaches, metrics (recall@k, precision@k) and go/no-go gates; run structured experiments and set quality standards
• Build scalable inference infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and automate the MLOps/LLMOps lifecycle (tracking, versioning, deployment, monitoring, retraining); design APIs, microservices and orchestration layers

Required profile

• 5+ years building and deploying AI solutions in production environments
• 2+ years of direct team leadership or technical management responsibility
• Advanced English required
• Nice to have: Databricks MLOps, LLM fine-tuning, agentic GenAI systems, IaC, security and observability for AI, classical ML background, open-source contributions

Required skills

• Expert Python, strong Git practices, ML/LLM versioning and deployment
• Solid cloud experience across AWS, Azure or GCP (Azure preferred), containerisation and orchestration
• Hands-on RAG experience (chunking, embeddings, retrieval, reranking, evaluation)
• MLOps/LLMOps with tools such as MLflow or Weights and Biases
• Evaluation design, event-driven architectures, APIs and microservices
