Senior Frontend Engineer – Consumer

About the role

We are seeking a world‑class Senior Frontend Engineer to join Kraken’s Consumer team. You will own the design, development, and delivery of high‑quality, consumer‑facing features across both web (React) and mobile (React Native) platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain features for the Kraken app, handling the full lifecycle from concept through production monitoring.
• Drive A/B testing and experimentation, formulate hypotheses, design experiments, analyse results and iterate based on data.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data, and Mobile engineers to create coherent cross‑platform experiences.
• Make opinionated technical decisions on frameworks and architecture, and mentor engineers of all seniority levels.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software development experience focused on consumer‑facing web or mobile products.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills, able to produce clear RFCs and explain technical trade‑offs to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience in fintech, crypto, payments, or other high‑trust consumer domains where correctness is critical.

Required skills

• TypeScript and deep expertise in the React ecosystem (state management, data fetching, component architecture).
• Production experience with React Native, including App Store and Google Play release pipelines.
• Next.js (App Router, React Server Components) and knowledge of routing solutions such as TanStack Router.
• Hands‑on experience with A/B testing and feature‑flag platforms (LaunchDarkly, Optimizely or similar).
• Real‑time UI technologies like WebSockets or Server‑Sent Events.
• Testing frameworks: Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright or Cypress.
• Modern build tooling (Vite, Webpack) and CI/CD pipelines.
• AI‑assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot) with a disciplined workflow.
