Senior Communications Specialist (Volunteer)

About the role

Ashoka is seeking senior‑level communications, marketing and digital media professionals to provide pro‑bono consults and project‑based support to its staff and Fellows worldwide. Volunteers will join a curated team of 10‑15 experts and may be engaged for 1‑3 months on flexible, remote assignments.

Required profile

• At least six years of experience in communications, marketing, digital media or related fields.
• One business and one personal reference.
• Fluency in English and the predominant language of your region.

Required skills

• Core content and design tools for briefs, reports and decks.
• Presentation and survey tools for audience and employee feedback.
• CRM marketing platforms, marketing automation and Salesforce knowledge.
• Internal communications platforms for segmented newsletters and announcements.
• Social media management across platforms, including scheduling, monitoring and reporting.
• CMS experience for site content, landing pages and blog publishing.
• PR and media tools for media lists, monitoring and press distribution.
• Analytics and data tools for web and campaign performance dashboards.
• Data handling and spreadsheet skills for tracking and analysis.
• Collaboration, project management and AI‑assisted tools for campaign management.
