Principal Cloud Architect

About the role

Caylent, an AI‑first cloud services company, is looking for a Principal Cloud Architect to lead technical strategy and delivery for its global customers. You will work remotely with engineers, sales, and project managers to design and implement advanced AWS solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a technical advisor and thought leader across multiple strategic customer engagements.
• Collaborate with clients to understand business goals and design high‑impact cloud solutions.
• Lead discovery sessions, create technical artifacts, and define long‑term architectural strategy.
• Guide small teams or oversee larger teams through implementation and delivery.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and provide architectural direction for internal and external projects.
• Create public‑facing content that showcases Caylent’s innovation and technical leadership.
• Support pre‑sales activities, including proposal development, scoping, and technical estimation.
• Mentor architects and engineers to elevate technical execution and growth.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as an architect in enterprise environments, preferably consulting.
• Proven ability to build trust with senior stakeholders and manage risk.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, able to handle escalations and align multi‑stakeholder teams.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

Required skills

• AWS services, especially serverless (API Gateway, Lambda, S3, SNS, SQS, CloudFront).
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Pulumi.
• DevOps automation, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker, ECS, Fargate).
• Scripting and automation.
• Cloud security best practices and networking.
• Incident, release, problem, and change management.
