Employee Relations Counselor – Latin America

About the role

The Employee Relations Counselor supports Chevron’s Latin America operations by managing investigations, providing consultative HR services, and resolving workplace disputes. This hybrid position blends remote work with on‑site collaboration as business needs dictate.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end investigative processes, including intake, planning, interviewing, evidence gathering, analysis, reporting, and case management.
• Offer consultative guidance to managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and corrective measures.
• Facilitate dispute and conflict resolution across the organization.
• Partner with Legal, Global Security, IT Forensics, Labor Relations, and Compliance on assignments.
• Represent Chevron in professional forums to benchmark ER practices.
• Attend unemployment claims appeal hearings as a company representative.
• Lead or support special projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 5 + years experience in employee relations, investigations, or related HR discipline.
• Fluent English.
• Strong knowledge of organizational policies, internal processes, and local labor legislation.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to summarize facts for varied audiences.
• Proven communication skills across all employee levels.
• Independent decision‑making, prioritization, and project management abilities.
• Capability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
