Urgent Care Registered Nurse (Nurse 2)

About the role

The Registered Nurse (Nurse 2) in Urgent Care provides professional nursing services to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs. Working under the general supervision of the Manager, Health Services, the RN delivers independent nursing care, administers prescribed treatments, and leads the healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care and safe discharge.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to urgent‑care patients, including assessment, treatment, and documentation.
• Administer prescribed medical treatments and medications safely and accurately.
• Lead and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care plans.
• Facilitate patient discharge and ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain compliance with the region’s vision, values, goals, and objectives.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program.
• Recent related nursing experience; current emergency nursing experience preferred.
• Satisfactory employment record.
• Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends on a 0.60 FTE schedule.

Required skills

• Successful completion of WRHA Emergency Nursing Orientation (ENO) Level 1 within two months of hire.
• Competence in emergency nursing procedures and protocols.
