Upstream Finance Team Lead – Property Accounting

About the role

Lead and develop a Property Accounting team supporting US Offshore operations from the Buenos Aires Shared Services Center. Ensure accurate financial stewardship, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across capital expenditure and asset management processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of Property Accounting professionals and manage month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities.
• Ensure accurate accounting for capital expenditures, asset additions, transfers, retirements, impairments and depreciation.
• Maintain compliance with Chevron accounting policies, SOX controls and financial reporting requirements.
• Drive process standardisation, continuous improvement and automation opportunities.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Controllers and Finance to resolve complex accounting matters.
• Support business initiatives, acquisitions, integrations and organisational changes affecting Property Accounting.
• Provide leadership for internal and external audit support and ensure timely reconciliations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 8‑10 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience managing teams and complex accounting processes.
• Advanced English proficiency, both verbal and written.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and internal controls.
• Experience with SAP and/or S/4HANA environments.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance and control requirements.
