Tax Preparer – Part‑time Remote (US Accounting Firm)

About the role

A U.S.-based accounting firm serving entertainment clients is seeking a detail‑oriented Tax Preparer/Accountant to join its remote team. The position starts part‑time with the possibility of moving to full‑time for a high‑performing candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare U.S. individual and business tax returns (Forms 1040, 1120, 1065) and related schedules for CPA review.
• Review financial records and source documents for accuracy before filing.
• Organize tax documentation, maintain clear workpapers, and flag missing or inconsistent information.
• Assist with account reconciliations and accounting schedules needed for tax preparation.
• Track deadlines, provide progress updates, and record time accurately.
• Protect confidential client information following firm data‑handling procedures.

Required profile

• Accounting or Finance degree.
• 2–5 years of hands‑on experience preparing U.S. tax returns.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Comfortable working in a professional U.S. firm environment with remote collaboration.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Lacerte or ProSeries tax software.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills for financial data organization.
• Knowledge of U.S. tax forms 1040, 1120, 1065 and IRS documentation requirements.
