Tax Analyst – Indirect Tax

About the role

Ecolab is expanding its Latin American Tax and Statutory Accounting Center of Excellence in Buenos Aires with a Senior Tax Analyst focused on U.S. indirect taxes. The role supports sales and use tax work, leveraging accounting, SAP, and intercompany processes.

Key responsibilities

• Run SAP and tax‑software reports to generate data for U.S. sales and use tax filings and upload them for external preparers.
• Produce fixed‑asset and inventory reports for annual personal‑property tax returns and coordinate with outside property‑tax firms.
• Generate sales data, Workday employee counts, and support business‑license processes across jurisdictions.
• Initiate monthly tax payments, set up recurring journal entries for tax accruals, and reconcile related accounts.
• Monitor sales‑tax exemption certificates, answer basic tax queries, and research state tax rules.
• Assist with sales and use tax audits by preparing data requests and coordinating with internal finance teams.
• Track online tax portals and notices, ensuring balances align with expectations and work with external service providers on resolutions.

Required profile

• Analyst‑level experience (2+ years) in accounting or tax functions.
• Familiarity with fundamental accounting principles, account reconciliation, and analytical reporting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to learn new tools and work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Required skills

• SAP (or similar ERP) experience
• Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency
• Experience with tax software and reporting tools
• Knowledge of Alteryx or Power BI for data automation
