Staff Accountant – Remote (Philippines)

About the role

The client, a fast‑growing self‑storage and apartment operator in the Midwestern United States, is building a data‑driven Finance team. As a Staff Accountant you will own day‑to‑day accounting for more than 30 entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting while leveraging automation and AI tools.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and reconcile revenue from property‑management systems and ensure accurate posting in the ERP.
• Perform monthly bank and credit‑card reconciliations for all entities.
• Review, code, and process vendor invoices, monitor autopay obligations, and maintain 1099 and W‑9 documentation.
• Execute month‑end close activities, prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations, and support financial reporting for leadership and investors.
• Assist with state entity filings, annual reports, and sales/excise tax compliance.
• Identify and implement process improvements through automation, AI tools, and system enhancements.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably supporting multiple entities or in real‑estate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Exposure to U.S. accounting standards is highly preferred.
• Experience with dual‑entry accounting and spend‑management platforms is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Experience using ERP or accounting systems.
• Familiarity with DualEntry software.
• Knowledge of Ramp or similar spend‑management platforms.
• Experience with property‑management software such as Cubby or TenantCloud.
