Software Engineer – Human Data Platforms (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join a leading data‑infrastructure team and build scalable platforms that process human‑generated datasets. The position is fully remote and offers the chance to work with cutting‑edge technologies in a collaborative, distributed environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise data pipelines for large‑scale batch and real‑time processing.
• Build and maintain backend services that support data ingestion, transformation, and analytics.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and performance.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to guarantee platform reliability and uptime.
• Contribute to architectural decisions that improve scalability, security, and cost efficiency.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail when debugging complex systems.
• Experience working with distributed systems and cloud‑based data infrastructure.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively within a remote team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience with Kafka, Spark, or similar distributed processing frameworks.
• Knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure for data services.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerisation and orchestration.
