Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a full-time Senior Tax Accountant to prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses. This remote position involves owning client relationships throughout the tax preparation process while maintaining high quality‑control standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare basic and complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations and other pass‑through entities.
• Review returns prepared by other accountants for accuracy, completeness and compliance.
• Communicate directly with clients about missing information, tax questions, deadlines, balances due and return status.
• Troubleshoot technical preparation and e‑filing issues, including reviewing ProConnect diagnostics and correcting rejected filings.
• Assist with bookkeeping, account cleanup and reconciliation as needed.
• Provide technical training and support to team members on ProConnect and other tax systems.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional experience preparing individual and business tax returns.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state taxation, including partnership and S corporation returns.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality control.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, especially with clients.
• Ability to manage assigned clients and meet filing deadlines throughout tax season.
