Senior Staff Backend Engineer

About the role

DualEntry is building an AI‑native operating system for finance, automating accounting from data entry to close. The company has raised over $100M and serves customers ranging from $5M ARR startups to publicly traded firms. As a Senior Staff Backend Engineer you will help shape the core accounting logic that powers this next‑generation ERP.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend systems and APIs (Python preferred) that run real‑time, business‑critical accounting logic.
• Ship features end‑to‑end, handling architecture, CI/CD pipelines, testing, monitoring, and production readiness.
• Integrate third‑party tools and external systems while proactively managing edge cases and risk.

Required profile

• Hard‑core work ethic and high agency.
• 5+ years of experience in backend engineering (language agnostic).
• Deep experience with complex business‑logic products.
• Strong database expertise: PostgreSQL, SQL, ORMs, migrations, and schema design.
• Experience deploying on AWS (or similar) with solid CI/CD and production‑readiness fundamentals.
