Senior SAP ABAP Consultant

About the role

EY GDS is looking for a Senior SAP ABAP Consultant to join its TechOps team. You will develop, maintain and optimise SAP ABAP applications in a multi-region environment, working closely with cross-functional teams to support global clients and the stability of large global companies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day application management support for SAP applications, including service requests, incidents, enhancement requests, change and problem management as a Level 2 or 3 specialist.
• Deliver senior-level support for ABAP customisations, enhancements and bug fixes across multiple SAP environments.
• Design, develop and implement complex ABAP programs and solutions, and lead root cause analysis of critical business requirements.
• Review code, tune performance and optimise ABAP programs.
• Work with functional and technical teams to gather requirements and advise on ABAP development.
• Resolve complex technical issues and system outages, including root cause analysis and corrective action.
• Maintain technical documentation and mentor junior team members.
• Take part in on-call rotation and work shift hours when required by the client.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related technology field or comparable experience.
• 3 to 7 years of SAP ABAP experience, including at least 3 years focused on level 3 support and global operations.
• Experience in a global setting with multi-regional teams, and flexibility to manage work hours, shifts and on-call duty.

Required skills

• SAP ABAP development, including ABAP objects, BAPIs, BADIs and RICEFWs.
• Understanding of SAP functional modules and business processes.
• Preferred: ABAP Workbench, ABAP Development Tools, SAP Fiori, SAP CI/CD tools and SAP certification.
