Senior Manager, Global Payroll Technology Solutions

About the role

EY Global Payroll Operate (GPO) is looking for a Senior Manager who leads client solutioning for global payroll technology and implementation. The role is client-facing and covers the period from sales handover through implementation and go-live, acting as a subject matter expert for EY's payroll technology ecosystem (EY Payroll Command Center, EY Digital Payroll, EY Interact Payroll, EY IP Mobile, GTPW, in-country payroll and integrations with client HCM, workforce management, general ledger and third-party systems). It ensures solutions are scalable, compliant, integrated and aligned to client business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead global design workshops and solutioning sessions to define requirements, architecture, integration scope, data flows, testing, conversion strategy, cutover planning and go-live readiness.
• Own global implementation deliverables such as user stories, design documents, integration designs, data dictionaries, testing and conversion plans and deployment strategies.
• Monitor local design decisions for their impact on the overall solution and re-solution where needed to protect scalability, quality, compliance and maintainability.
• Support the sales-to-implementation handover, including MSA, SOW, LCA, PSM, scope assumptions, pricing and implementation commitments.
• Act as the main technology and solution point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Lead cross-functional implementation teams across countries or regions, managing scope, timelines, resources, risks, issues, change requests, budgets and project communications.
• Collaborate with technology, central, service management, payroll and local teams to meet global standards and project governance.
• Provide escalation support, issue resolution and quality assurance throughout the implementation lifecycle.
• Support business development activities such as RFPs, RFIs, pricing, pitches, demos, feasibility assessments and vendor evaluations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement through templates, tools, methodologies and lessons learned, and coach and mentor team members.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in global payroll implementations, HR/payroll technology, systems integration, program management or technology consulting in complex multinational environments.
• Proven track record leading large-scale, multi-country payroll or HCM implementations through design, build, testing, cutover, go-live and stabilization.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, global payroll operations, regulatory compliance, data privacy, cybersecurity and cross-border data requirements.
• Demonstrated leadership in matrixed environments, with excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Fluency in English required; Spanish, German, French or Portuguese is an added value.

Required skills

• Cloud-based global payroll or HR platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM or ADP, including inbound and outbound integrations.
• Integration technologies and data formats: APIs, middleware, ETL, EDI, SFTP, XML, JSON, CSV, data mapping, transformation, validation and reconciliation.
• Project and program management: scope, budget, resource, timeline, risk, issue, dependency, financial and stakeholder management.
• Financial acumen: project budgets, billing, margins, ERP reporting, service specifications and Statements of Work.
• Preferred: bachelor's degree (master's preferred), PMP or PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma, global payroll or platform certifications, SAP US payroll experience, and experience with EY technology platforms or managed payroll services.
