Senior Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

GoFundMe is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to design and implement next‑generation AI solutions that power search, recommendation, and personalization across our platform. You will work closely with product, data science, and engineering teams to deliver high‑impact, production‑ready ML systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy AI/ML pipelines for personalization, fraud detection, content understanding, and next‑best‑action services.
• Develop taxonomy, ontology, and tagging systems that feed discovery and recommendation engines.
• Apply graph‑based techniques, including knowledge graphs and graph algorithms, to improve retrieval and recommendation quality.
• Build fault‑tolerant, high‑throughput services with strong observability and low‑latency performance.
• Lead performance optimization using offline and online metrics and streamline ML workflows.

Required profile

• 4+ years of hands‑on ML engineering or data science experience with production deployments.
• Experience with search, ranking, recommendation or personalization systems.
• Proven ability to guide projects, break down complex work, and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in a technical field is preferred.
