Senior AI Systems Engineer – Automation & Integration

About the role

Medallia is seeking a Senior AI Systems Engineer specialized in AI Automation, Frameworks & Enterprise Integrations to shape and scale internal AI‑enabled automation capabilities across the enterprise. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining robust, secure workflow orchestration solutions that connect business systems and services.

Key responsibilities

• Define vision, standards, and technical roadmap for internal AI automation and enterprise workflow orchestration.
• Design and maintain scalable patterns for AI‑enabled workflows, API integrations, prompt handling, logging, error management and human‑in‑the‑loop controls.
• Partner with Security, Legal, Privacy and IT leadership to ensure compliance and governance.
• Evaluate platforms, frameworks and vendors for long‑term maintainability and cost efficiency.
• Identify manual, repetitive workflows and develop automation solutions using tools such as n8n, Zapier, ServiceNow and other orchestration platforms.
• Build integrations between enterprise platforms (ITSM, collaboration, identity, ticketing) and AI services, leveraging REST APIs, webhooks and event‑driven triggers.
• Support AI use cases involving LLM APIs, prompt orchestration, tool calling and response validation.
• Monitor automation health, reliability and performance, and create runbooks and operational standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience in systems/platform engineering, enterprise applications or automation.
• Proven experience with enterprise workflow and automation tools such as n8n, Claude code, ServiceNow or similar.
• Hands‑on experience designing complex API integrations, webhooks, JSON payloads and event‑driven workflows.
• Practical experience with modern AI services, LLM‑based workflows and prompt design.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across workflow logic, integration failures and authentication issues.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral.
