Senior Legal Counsel – Labor & Employment (Argentina/Uruguay)

About the role

IBM Legal, Regulatory Affairs & General Counsel is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel with deep expertise in Labor & Employment Law to support its operations in Argentina and Uruguay. You will act as a trusted strategic partner, providing pragmatic legal advice while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to enable business growth and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as primary advisor on individual and collective labor law matters, supporting HR and Labor Relations.
• Advise on hiring, terminations, disciplinary actions, internal policies, and new regulations.
• Manage labor disputes, union negotiations, and oversee litigation with external counsel.
• Ensure compliance with local labor laws and corporate policies.
• Provide strategic legal advice to business stakeholders across the organization.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts for technology products and services (consulting, SaaS, cloud, AI).
• Collaborate with Procurement on vendor agreements and support new business initiatives.
• Handle corporate governance matters, including board minutes and statutory compliance.
• Coordinate and manage external law firms and proactively identify legal risks.

Required profile

• Law degree with active bar admission.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Labor & Employment Law, either in‑house or at a top‑tier law firm.
• Proven track record handling labor disputes and complex negotiations.
• Additional experience in commercial and corporate law is a strong plus.
• Experience in the technology sector is highly desirable.
