Senior Java Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer to join the Wakapi team. You will design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications, taking ownership from concept through production.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable software solutions.
• Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Design and integrate REST APIs and microservices.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code following engineering best practices.
• Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to other team members.
• Contribute to system design, architecture, and technical decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior Java engineer building backend services.
• Ability to own features end‑to‑end and drive them through the full development lifecycle.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive attitude toward production support.
• Experience mentoring or guiding other engineers.
