Senior Functional Analyst - Reporting Applications

About the role

EY Global Delivery Services is looking for a motivated senior analyst to support and maintain several reporting and analytics applications, including SAP BI (WebI), Power BI, Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (Cubes), SAS Business Rules, Workiva, ARM and related tools. The role centres on user support, access management and continuous improvement of reporting processes, with most requests coming through ServiceNow.

Key responsibilities

• Manage user access and handle issues reported across reporting applications (WebI, Power BI, Cubes, Business Rules and others).
• Process and resolve support requests through ServiceNow, following up accurately and delivering effective solutions.
• Work with users to understand issues, investigate root causes and give clear, practical resolutions.
• Analyse and interpret financial and accounting information (business units, accounts, departments) and its hierarchical structures such as trees and nodes.
• Use logical reasoning and SQL to understand report logic, data filtering, validations and performance optimisation.
• Use Microsoft Office tools, especially advanced Excel, Power Query and Power BI, to connect data sources, build reports and support reporting automation.
• Troubleshoot problems with an analytical mindset, adapting solutions when standard procedures fall short.
• Communicate clearly with users to clarify requirements, explain findings and guide them, even when requests are not fully defined.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Finance, Business Administration or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and commonly used financial structures and fields.
• Experience in reporting, analytics or application support roles focused on user support and issue resolution.

Required skills

• Strong logical reasoning and practical experience with SQL.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Power Query and Power BI.
