Remote Data Engineer

About the role

Huzzle connects talent with in-house positions at leading companies across the UK, US, Canada, Europe and Australia. As a Data Engineer, you will design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure, working with data analysts, data scientists, software engineers and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, accessible and high-quality data. This is a fully remote, full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable ETL and ELT pipelines.
• Build and optimise data architectures, databases and data warehouses.
• Integrate data from multiple sources, APIs and third-party platforms.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, reliability and security.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and workflows.
• Collaborate with analytics, engineering and business teams on data requirements.
• Implement data governance and best practices, and document data models, workflows and technical processes.
• Optimise storage, processing performance and query efficiency, and support reporting and BI initiatives.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing or related roles.
• Strong SQL and database management skills.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools and data pipeline development.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and modern data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks).
• Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow or Prefect.
• Understanding of data modelling, governance and data quality; experience with large datasets and distributed systems preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment.
