Registered Nurse – Urgent Care (Nurse 2)

About the role

The Registered Nurse (Nurse 2) in Urgent Care provides professional nursing services to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs. Working under the general supervision of the Manager, Health Services, the RN delivers independent nursing care, administers prescribed treatments, and leads the healthcare team to ensure safe, coordinated patient care and discharge.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to urgent‑care patients, including assessment, treatment, and monitoring.
• Administer prescribed medical treatments and medications safely and accurately.
• Lead and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care plans.
• Facilitate patient discharge and ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, standards, and documentation requirements.

Required profile

• Recent, related nursing experience; current emergency nursing experience preferred.
• Satisfactory employment record.
• Willingness to complete the full‑time Emergency Nursing Orientation program.
• Commitment to the vision, values, and goals of the health region and facility.
