Registered Nurse – Surgery (N2East)

About the role

The Registered Nurse – Surgery (N2East) provides professional nursing care to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs within the N2 East unit of Concordia Hospital. Working under the general supervision of the Manager, Health Services, the RN delivers independent nursing services, administers prescribed treatments, and leads the care team to ensure safe and coordinated patient discharge.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for surgical patients.
• Administer medications and medical treatments in accordance with physician orders.
• Lead and collaborate with the multidisciplinary health‑care team.
• Coordinate patient care plans, including discharge planning and follow‑up.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program.
• Current registration as a Registered Nurse in Manitoba.
• Minimum of one year of current medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Successful completion of any required post‑basic program.

Required skills

• Proficiency in clinical assessment and patient monitoring.
• Ability to administer prescribed medical treatments safely.
• Leadership and teamwork capabilities within a fast‑paced surgical environment.
