Registered Nurse – Surgery (Evenings & Weekends)

About the role

The Registered Nurse – Surgery provides professional nursing care for patients with complex and unpredictable health needs in the N2W Surgery unit at Concordia Hospital. Working evenings and weekends, the RN delivers independent nursing services, administers prescribed treatments, and leads the health‑care team to ensure coordinated patient care and safe discharge.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing assessments and interventions for surgical patients.
• Administer prescribed medical treatments and medications safely.
• Lead and collaborate with the multidisciplinary health‑care team.
• Coordinate patient care plans, including discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital policies.
• Ensure up‑to‑date registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) and participate in professional associations.

Required profile

• Current surgical nursing experience; orthopedic experience preferred.
• Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program.
• Possibly completed a relevant post‑basic program.
• Active CRNM registration and CPR certification.
• Engagement in professional nursing associations is an advantage.
