Principal Data Architect

About the role

Caylent, an AI‑first cloud services firm, is looking for a Principal Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of complex cloud‑based data solutions for its customers. This senior position works within the Cloud Data Engineering Practice and collaborates closely with pre‑sales, engineering, and client teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define strategic roadmaps and outcomes for clients in a consultative capacity.
• Act as a data engineering SME for upcoming engagements, supporting pre‑sales activities.
• Conduct technical interviews for architect and engineer candidates and provide guidance to the team.
• Oversee development and implementation of data standards, operating procedures, and governance.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience with AWS data services.
• At least 10 years designing and building complex data systems.
• Strong drive to standardize and document approaches and solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• AWS (including SageMaker, Bedrock).
• Big data processing with Spark, streaming solutions, and NoSQL databases.
• Machine Learning, MLOps, and GenAI foundational models.
• DataOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code, data testing, and versioning.
• Python for analytics (numpy, pandas, matplotlib) and automation.
• CI/CD pipelines and related tools.
