Performance Video Editor (Remote)

About the role

Social Scout is a fast-growing eCommerce agency specializing in email marketing, SMS retention and conversion rate optimization. It is looking for a high-velocity, detail-oriented Performance Video Editor to lead its ad creative production, working directly with the Lead Creative Strategist and Founder. The role is full-time (40 hours per week) and fully remote; candidates must be set up and hired as a contractor.

Key responsibilities

• Edit, package and deliver 40+ core video ad concepts per week, producing about 60 ad variations through modular hook swaps, aspect ratio cuts and text overlay changes.
• Turn Creative Strategist briefs into production-ready Meta ads, following time-cuts, visual cues, sound design and text callouts.
• Create several 3-second hook variations (visuals, text blocks, pattern interrupts) for each winning core script.
• Reformat assets across 9:16 (Reels/Stories/vertical), 1:1 (feed/square) and 16:9 formats.
• Maintain an organized digital asset library of founder footage, client interviews, B-roll, screen shares, case studies and text overlay templates.
• Apply native Meta editing trends: fast pacing, dynamic typography, subtle audio cues, color grading and auto-captioning.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience editing short-form video ads for Meta Ads (Instagram and Facebook Reels and Feed).
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• Available 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST, with flexibility of +/- 1-2 hours.
• Systems-minded and organized, able to manage high-volume export pipelines, standardized file naming and template components.
• Detail-oriented, with flawless attention to audio levels, color grading, text accuracy and privacy blurring of sensitive client data.

Required skills

• Expert proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut Desktop, After Effects or Final Cut Pro.
• Deep understanding of 3-second visual hooks, text placement, fast pacing and kinetic typography.
