Laundry Manager (Shipboard)

About the role

The Laundry Manager oversees the daily operation of the shipboard laundry facility, ensuring that all linen, uniforms, and guest items are cleaned to the highest standards. Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, you will coordinate with multiple ship departments to guarantee timely and efficient service.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily laundry processes, including washing, ironing, dry‑cleaning, and storage.
• Maintain equipment functionality, conduct daily inspections, and coordinate repairs with the Executive Housekeeper and First Engineer.
• Ensure proper sorting of linen by color and condition, and enforce quality controls at each stage.
• Manage distribution of clean linen to staterooms, crew cabins, F&B areas, spa, pool, and cruise‑theater departments.
• Coordinate washing schedules for costumes and specialty items required by the Cruise Division.
• Set formulas and cycles for different fabrics and soils, working with Ecolab representatives for machine calibration.
• Oversee chemical supply requisitions, budget adherence, and non‑chemical supply needs.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized work environment and ensure all staff follow safety protocols.

Required profile

• Technical proficiency with laundry equipment and processes.
• Strong judgment for corrective actions and problem‑solving.
• Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
• Excellent guest‑service orientation and communication skills.
• Capability to work collaboratively with multiple ship departments.
