Java & Data Technical Leader

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead to design, develop, and deliver scalable data processing and streaming solutions. The role involves providing technical leadership across data engineering initiatives and contributing to high‑performance distributed systems architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical design and implementation of large‑scale data processing and streaming applications.
• Define architecture standards and best practices for distributed data platforms.
• Design, develop, and optimise batch and real‑time data pipelines using Apache Spark and Kafka.
• Build and maintain scalable APIs following OpenAPI specifications.
• Mentor development teams through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading technical teams and complex software projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Required skills

• Java development in enterprise environments.
• Apache Spark (Spark SQL, Structured Streaming, distributed processing) and Cloudera ecosystem.
• Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams.
• Scala programming.
• Design and implementation of RESTful APIs using OpenAPI specifications.
• SQL databases, data modelling, AWS cloud platform, and Databricks.
