About the role
The Human Resources Generalist supports employees and managers across the United States and Puerto Rico, serving as a trusted HR partner for employee relations, talent management, compliance, and performance management. This full‑time permanent position ensures HR practices align with federal, state and Puerto Rico employment laws while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with managers to address employee‑relations issues, advise on policies, disciplinary actions, performance‑improvement plans and workplace concerns.
- Conduct investigations of employment matters and coordinate with legal counsel to ensure compliant resolutions.
- Support employees requiring employer‑sponsored visas by coordinating immigration matters with external counsel.
- Manage core employee‑lifecycle processes, including performance management, organizational changes and documentation.
- Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies and procedures to stay current and compliant.
- Monitor federal, state and local regulatory changes, such as minimum‑wage and paid‑sick‑leave requirements.
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees and managers on leadership, communication, policies and mandatory compliance topics.
- Evaluate HR processes, identify improvement opportunities and implement scalable, efficient solutions.
- Promote a positive, inclusive environment by building trust, maintaining confidentiality and strengthening employee relations.
- Assist with additional HR projects and special initiatives as business needs evolve.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, including extensive employee‑relations and performance‑management exposure.
- 2–3 years of HR Generalist experience supporting day‑to‑day HR operations.
- Working knowledge of U.S. federal, state, local and Puerto Rico employment laws.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment while delivering high‑quality service.
