Housekeeping Utility – Shipboard Cleaning & Cabin Service

About the role

The Housekeeping Utility ensures the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across public areas, crew spaces and officer cabins on board. Working under the Rooms Division Manager, the role combines routine cleaning, sanitation, and guest‑service tasks to support total guest satisfaction and compliance with public health regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of assigned public and crew areas, including vacuuming, dusting, polishing, high‑dusting, garbage removal and floor care (shampooing, stripping, waxing).
• Clean officer cabins and bathrooms to the highest standard and provide turn‑down service as required.
• Manage laundry and valet services for officer cabins, including towel delivery and collection.
• Perform daily sanitation, record activities in the sanitation log and follow outbreak response protocols.
• Assist teammates, handle requisition distribution, and ensure proper storage and handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Support wheelchair assistance, luggage handling, plant watering (if assigned), and embarkation/disembarkation duties.
• Maintain Rooms Division lockers, report faulty equipment, and follow cost‑aware waste disposal procedures.

Required profile

• Experience in hospitality or shipboard housekeeping environments.
• Strong knowledge of public health and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work as part of a team, follow detailed procedures and maintain discretion when entering private cabins.
• Physical stamina for repetitive cleaning tasks and ability to lift and move equipment safely.
