Finance Business Partner - D2C / CPG / Ecommerce

About the role

MAVI places experienced finance and accounting professionals into senior, long-term roles at high-growth US companies. This Finance Business Partner position connects accounting numbers with the business at a high-growth US consumer brand selling across ecommerce and marketplace channels, working remotely from Argentina. You will partner with department heads on budgets, forecasts and spend, supporting the close and providing variance analysis and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Act as finance partner to department heads, helping them plan, track and explain their spend and headcount
• Build and maintain departmental budgets and the rolling forecast, and feed them into the company plan
• Explain budget versus actual results each month, with root causes and recommended actions
• Build reporting packages and dashboards for leadership
• Prepare accruals, prepaids and reclasses, and review department-level P&L coding before close
• Work with AP and procurement on vendor spend, approvals and cost allocation
• Reconcile planning data to the general ledger
• Reconcile sales and payouts from Shopify, Amazon, Walmart Marketplace and other storefronts to the general ledger
• Maintain inventory roll-forwards and reconcile inventory systems (e.g. Cin7, Finale Inventory, Fishbowl) and 3PL reports to the general ledger
• Build gross margin analysis by channel and SKU

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience across accounting and FP&A, with a solid accounting foundation
• Experience in accounting for CPG, ecommerce or retail, including multichannel sales reconciliation and inventory
• Experience building budgets, forecasts and budget versus actual analysis
• US GAAP or IFRS experience, with substantial exposure to US, UK, Canadian or Australian entities
• Strong financial modeling in Excel or Google Sheets
• Experience working with non-finance stakeholders and explaining numbers in plain terms
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field, or equivalent professional qualification
• Preferred: CPA, Contador Publico, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent

Required skills

• ERP or accounting system such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online or Xero
• Preferred: experience with AI tools in finance, planning or BI tools (Adaptive, Pigment, Mosaic, Power BI, Looker)
• DTC, wholesale or retail channel planning experience
• Experience at a venture-backed or PE-backed company
