Director, Strategy & Planning - Real World Late Phase/Real World Evidence

About the role

Lead pre‑award strategy and commercial leadership for Real World Late Phase (RWLP) accounts, guide transition to delivery, and provide strategic oversight post‑award. Serve as the senior client‑facing strategist on RWLP evidence planning and operational approaches.

Key responsibilities

• Own pre‑award strategy, RFP/RFI response, service model definition, budgeting and vendor strategy; lead bid defense meetings.
• Partner with delivery teams to ensure clear handoff of strategy, scope, timelines and budget.
• Maintain strategic oversight of portfolio performance, governance and alignment with commercial intent.
• Lead senior‑level client conversations on RWLP standards, evidence strategy and operational evolution.
• Provide strategic guidance during study conduct, risk assessment and integrated solution development.

Required profile

• 10‑12 years of relevant experience with at least 6‑8 years directly in RWLP/RWE.
• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field; advanced degree (MS, MPH, PhD, MD, MBA) preferred.
• Strong experience in proposal development, budgeting and bid defense.
• Proven ability to manage complex client portfolios and vendor partnerships.

• Familiarity with emerging technologies such as generative AI for efficiency.
