Data Manager, Machine Learning

About the role

Avature is looking for a Data Manager to join its Machine Learning team. You will be responsible for the end‑to‑end data lifecycle that fuels AI research and development, ensuring high‑quality data for model training, testing, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Own the data lifecycle for AI R&D projects, guaranteeing precision, organization, traceability and readiness for model development.
• Lead human annotation initiatives: source, hire, train and onboard external annotators, define guidelines and enforce QA processes.
• Collaborate on automated, LLM‑powered pipelines for data labeling, pre‑processing and validation.
• Work with AI Engineers and QA to design evaluation methods and benchmarks for Agentic AI features.
• Maintain a detailed data catalog tracking provenance, lineage and usage across projects.
• Produce technical documentation for AI governance, regulatory compliance and support customer‑facing inquiries.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of data annotation methodologies, data pipelines and cataloging tools.
• Familiarity with AI prompting, agentic workflow design and AI governance concepts.
• Knowledge of data privacy laws and compliance documentation is highly desirable.
• Basic Python programming skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a focus on data cleanliness.
