Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

As a Cyber Security Engineer at Sophilabs you will protect our infrastructure, applications and data by applying security best practices, modern defense tools and cloud expertise. You will work closely with development and operations teams to embed security throughout the software lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, manage and continuously improve security controls across infrastructure, applications and networks.
• Monitor, investigate and respond to security incidents, performing root‑cause analysis and long‑term remediation.
• Develop, enforce and maintain security policies, standards and best practices.
• Lead vulnerability assessments, penetration testing and security audits.
• Design secure network architectures, including firewalls, IDS/IPS and zero‑trust frameworks.
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments in collaboration with DevOps.
• Evaluate, deploy and manage security tools for endpoints, servers and cloud environments.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR and other relevant frameworks.
• Educate internal teams on security practices and promote a security‑first culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in cyber or information security engineering.
• Strong understanding of network and application security, encryption, authentication and access control.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS or other major cloud providers.
• Familiarity with security standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST or CIS.
• Proficiency in English (B2 level or higher).

Required skills

• Firewalls, IDS/IPS, zero‑trust networking.
• SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners and endpoint protection solutions.
• AWS security services and cloud security architecture.
• Security frameworks: ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, CIS.
• Scripting/automation: Python, Bash, PowerShell.
• Container security (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevSecOps practices.
