Chassis Team Leader - Spacecraft Structural & Thermal Integration

About the role

Satellogic is a vertically integrated Earth observation satellite and data company that designs, manufactures and operates its own fleet of satellites. The Chassis team provides the foundational physical platforms for Level 1 and Level 2 programs, and the Chassis Team Leader oversees the structural, mechanical, thermal and integration needs of every program and product. The role is highly strategic, covering physical architecture, satellite integration and safe integration with launch vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and maintenance of spacecraft physical architectures, including structural platforms and behaviours, harness integration and thermal control.
• Drive innovation to reduce risks related to structure and thermal behaviour, and control mass, centre of gravity and inertia budgets.
• Improve manufacturability based on manufacturing team reports and production bottlenecks.
• Own system-level harness implementation and coordinate safe thermal control state machine implementation in orbit.
• Define and optimise interferences between subsystems and define comprehensive thermal control strategies.
• Support Purchasing and Production teams, and act as coordinator for Level 3 support of structural, thermal and integration issues during assembly and production.
• Develop long-term technical solutions, coordinate initiatives for safe launch operations, manage team resources and mentor team members.

Required profile

• Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years as an engineer in technical, multidisciplinary aerospace environments.
• 3+ years leading projects and guiding a team.
• Proven experience in structural design, thermal control and system-level integration.
• Knowledge of budgeting and planning.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of project execution and engineering design processes.
• Experience with CAD/PLM tools for hardware development.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Negotiation skills and ability to align cross-functional teams.
