Associate & Counsel – Consumer Banking Legal

About the role

The Consumer Banking Legal team at JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking an Associate & Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support for the firm’s extensive network of consumer branches. You will work closely with branch back‑office teams on fiduciary matters, trust accounts, powers of attorney, and estate issues.

Key responsibilities

• Develop subject‑matter expertise for branch products such as Safe Deposit Boxes, Notary services, Medallion Signature Guarantees, Decedent Accounts, and Trusts.
• Provide strategic legal advice to branch professionals and operational support teams.
• Identify legal issues, propose solutions, and attend business meetings to guide new initiatives.
• Update and review internal policies, conduct legal research on state and federal consumer finance laws, and draft customer‑facing communications.
• Support litigation efforts by liaising with business units and supplying relevant background.
• Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Controls departments and monitor regulatory changes.
