Assistant Housekeeping Manager – Cruise Ship

About the role

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports the Housekeeping Manager in delivering exceptional guest experiences aboard a cruise ship. This role ensures that staterooms, suites, lofts and public areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety and appearance.

Key responsibilities

• Anticipate and fulfill guest needs in staterooms and public spaces.
• Maintain the look, feel and operational standards of assigned areas, including top suites, decks and pool deck.
• Oversee daily housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring compliance with company safety, quality and environmental policies.
• Supervise and develop a team of at least 10 crew members, providing training, coaching and performance recognition.
• Coordinate cleaning activities for crew areas and public venues, managing chemical use and equipment.
• Support the Housekeeping Manager in achieving division objectives and maintaining service excellence.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of housekeeping managerial experience in a 4‑ or 5‑star hotel (500+ rooms), cruise line or similar hospitality setting.
• Experience supervising a team of at least ten employees.
• High school diploma or equivalent education, training or experience.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemical handling, safety procedures and personal protective equipment.
