Assistant Financial Controller

About the role

DataCamp is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to join its Accounting team. This senior, high‑ownership position acts as the second CPA in the function and partners directly with the VP, Finance Operations & Global Controller. The role supports a global organization with subsidiaries in the US, UK, Belgium, Singapore, UAE and an upcoming entity in Portugal.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review consolidated audited financial statements under US GAAP.
• Manage audit coordination with Deloitte US and tax advisory relationships with Withum.
• Oversee US and foreign tax compliance, including income, sales, and indirect taxes.
• Lead foreign subsidiary accounting oversight and technical accounting research.
• Own month‑end close for ASC 842 lease accounting, intercompany reconciliation and eliminations.
• Handle multi‑currency consolidation across six functional currencies.

Required profile

• Former Big 4 or large regional public accountant with senior‑level experience in a US SaaS or technology growth‑stage startup.
• Demonstrated technical rigor and a hands‑on operating style.
• Passion for leveraging AI tools to improve finance operations.

Required skills

• US GAAP and ASC 842 lease accounting.
• Consolidated financial statement preparation and audit management.
• Tax compliance (income, sales, indirect taxes) across multiple jurisdictions.
• Multi‑currency consolidation.
• NetSuite OneWorld, Zuora, Salesforce CPQ, Ramp, Tipalti, Avalara.
