Application Engineering Project Technical Lead

About the role

EY's Enterprise Technology division provides technology services and solutions to over 300,000 EY people, including emerging collaboration tools and technology infrastructure. The Application Engineering Project Technical Lead is a senior supervisory resource responsible for managing the technical deliverables of a project within agreed budgets and timelines, ensuring the team uses the right methodologies and meets high-quality coding standards. The role is hands-on, with the lead acting as a subject matter expert on the end-to-end business process supported by the tool(s).

Key responsibilities

• Manage technical tasks within the project plan, coordinate with the project manager and resource the project appropriately.
• Ensure the project team follows quality delivery processes and deliver robust, scalable code.
• Take part in the full delivery cycle, from sprint planning through release.
• Anticipate project issues and risks, define problems, identify causes and implement the most suitable solutions.
• Work with team, group and global leads to make key decisions and share lessons learned across projects.
• Lead a global application engineering team, mentoring staff and working with Solution Delivery Managers and Team Leads on issues.
• Provide supervision so quality, methodologies, standards, budgets and timelines are met, and lend expertise to internal IT teams and task forces.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in application design and development, including work with vendor applications, external providers and business relationship management.
• Self-starter able to work independently and in a team, with effective communication and the ability to motivate virtual teams.
• Multi-tasks using Agile methodology and promotes application engineering best practices and quality standards.

Required skills

• .NET: C#.NET, ASP.NET, MVC, Windows Services
• Databases: MS SQL Server, stored procedures, views, functions, T-SQL
• Web technologies: JavaScript, CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery, Node.js, Angular, HTTP REST calls
• Ideal: Azure DevOps, Power BI, Power Query, SSRS, SharePoint (Server Object Model, JSOM/CSOM, REST API)
