Application and SQL Database Support Engineer - Secure Access

About the role

EY's Enterprise Technology team supports its 400,000 people with secure, resilient technology services. This Application and SQL Database Support Engineer role sits in the Secure Access / Office Technology team, which manages in-office technologies such as physical access, mobile credentials, secure print and scan, and digital lockers. The engineer supports and maintains Secure Access solutions, works closely with internal stakeholders, support teams and external vendors, and must be willing to work in rotational shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation
• Create and manage batch scripts and PowerShell scripts for automation
• Use SQL Server Management Studio for database management and performance tuning
• Design and develop reports with Power BI Report Builder
• Gather requirements with cross-functional teams and deliver data solutions
• Troubleshoot data issues, document processes and maintain data quality standards
• Monitor, log and prioritize incidents by severity and business needs
• Deploy and configure applications in server environments and work with vendors on system reliability

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field
• Over 5 years of experience in an enterprise environment
• Proven experience in SQL and database management
• Ability to work with senior stakeholders up to partnership level and in global, matrixed organizations across cultures and time zones
• Experience managing vendors, contracts and externally delivered services
