Accounting Specialist

About the role

The Accounting Specialist will support accounting and controllership activities for South America regional operations within a multinational environment. The role focuses on revenue recognition, inventory accounting, and financial reporting under US GAAP and IFRS.

Key responsibilities

• Perform monthly close activities for revenue recognition, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Review contracts and commercial agreements to determine appropriate accounting treatment and performance obligations.
• Prepare and analyze recurring reports and performance metrics related to revenue and accounting results.
• Ensure compliance with inventory accounting policies, SOX requirements, and internal controls.
• Support system implementations, ERP initiatives, automation projects, and interface enhancements.
• Collaborate with global, regional, and shared services teams to align processes and coordinate activities.
• Assist internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Intermediate level English proficiency.
• Experience in accounting, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Ability to work autonomously with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Familiarity with automation tools like Power Platform, KNIME, or Python.
