Accountant – US GAAP for Hospitality Clients (Remote)

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a reliable Accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting for a portfolio of hospitality clients, including hotels and restaurants, under US GAAP standards. This fully remote position offers the chance to work independently, own the full‑cycle accounting process, and interact directly with clients across multiple time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Own full‑cycle accounting for assigned hospitality clients, including general ledger management, month‑end close, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations and journal entries.
• Coordinate directly with clients to gather information, clarify transactions and communicate results.
• Identify discrepancies, process gaps or improvement opportunities and act proactively.
• Adapt quickly to evolving client needs, recognizing that each hospitality business is unique.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience with full‑cycle close ownership.
• Solid, hands‑on knowledge of US GAAP applied in a professional setting.
• Experience serving US‑based or US‑facing clients.
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Self‑directed, organized and able to work without micromanagement.
