Accountant – Financial Reporting & Tax Compliance (Buenos Aires)

About the role

PIL is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage the full spectrum of financial reporting, statutory compliance and tax obligations for its operations in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The role ensures accurate, timely and compliant accounting in line with local GAAP, NIIF and group standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing in accordance with NCIF.
• Maintain statutory accounting books, electronic ledgers and Super Sociedades reporting.
• Reconcile accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and social security accruals.
• Manage fixed assets, depreciation and related NIIF/NCIF calculations.
• Prepare annual statutory financial statements with detailed notes.
• Consolidate monthly reporting to HQ using Oracle GFS/FCCS within the Day +5 deadline.
• Apply exchange‑rate rules for financial reporting and national customs requirements.
• Ensure full compliance with income tax, VAT, withholding, payroll and other municipal tax filings.
• Calculate tax provisions, deferred tax and coordinate with tax advisors and HQ tax teams.

Required profile

• Proactive, detail‑oriented professional with strong analytical abilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of Argentine local GAAP (NCIF), NIIF and tax legislation.
• Experience handling statutory accounting, electronic invoicing (Factura Electrónica) and payroll obligations.
• Ability to act as the legal accounting representative for the country.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with regional and global finance teams.
