Worker Trust and Safety Coordinator

About the role

HireArt is seeking a Worker Trust and Safety Coordinator to join its Worker Experience Team. You will provide advanced HR and people‑operations support to contract workers, focusing on complex leave of absence and workplace accommodation requests.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary resource for Tier 3 employee inquiries and escalations.
• Guide workers through LOA and accommodation processes, ensuring timely communication, accurate documentation, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of state‑specific leave laws, including the California Family Rights Act (CFRA).
• Investigate and resolve complex worker issues, coordinating with HR, Payroll, Benefits, and Account Management.
• Support Tier 2 inquiries (payroll, benefits, etc.) during high‑volume periods.
• Identify root causes of recurring issues and recommend process, documentation, and workflow improvements.
• Document cases clearly in support systems and maintain records for compliance and reporting.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, Finance, Payroll, and other teams to enhance worker support.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in customer support, HR operations, or employee relations.
• Proven ability to handle complex employee cases or escalations.
• C1/C2 level English proficiency with strong written and verbal communication.
• Self‑organizing, proactive, resourceful, and detail‑oriented.
• Critical thinking skills to propose thoughtful business solutions.

Required skills

• Experience with Zendesk or a similar ticketing system.
• Basic understanding of Slack.
• Basic understanding of Google Workspace tools.
