Teacher Assistant

About the role

The Teacher Assistant works under the supervision of the principal or classroom teacher to support daily instructional activities. This part‑time, nine‑month position provides hands‑on assistance in preparing lessons, managing classroom resources, and supporting student learning.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and organize class materials and supplies.
• Correct and record student assignments and assessments.
• Assist the teacher with classroom management and student supervision.
• Provide individualized support to students as needed.
• Maintain accurate attendance and grade records.
• Perform secretarial and clerical tasks, including filing and data entry.
• Operate a computer for administrative duties and record‑keeping.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of post‑secondary education (associate degree) or ability to pass the Utah State Office of Education approved Para‑Professional Test.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic secretarial/clerical abilities.
• Ability to operate a computer for routine tasks.

What we offer

• Salary Grade 3 – $17.24 per hour.
