Assistant Child Care Coordinator

About the role

The Assistant Child Care Coordinator supports the Child Care Coordinator in the Early Childhood Education Training (ECET) Center. Working across three regional high‑school childcare sites, the role provides daily care for infants and young children while mentoring high‑school students enrolled in childcare courses.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the care of children ages 6 weeks to 5 years, including meals, diaper changes, and personal hygiene.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate high‑school ECE Pathway students and teacher assistants.
• Maintain an inviting, age‑appropriate classroom environment that meets state licensing requirements.
• Implement developmentally appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.
• Provide age‑appropriate discipline when necessary.
• Rotate among assigned high‑school childcare centers to ensure consistent program operations.

Required profile

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work Monday‑Friday, 11:15 a.m. – 4:15 p.m., with occasional earlier shifts.
• Comfortable working with infants and preschool‑aged children.
• Strong communication and mentorship skills for working with high‑school students.
